I half expected a tiny car-hop to show up

Sunday morning we met Andy, Carlie, and Jacob at The Original Pancake House. This place is old school.

It's so old school, in fact, that it's somehow still early July inside.

Maybe Anna was enraged by the failure of the decorating committee to stay abreast of the current month, I don't know, but for some reason she was terrrrrrrrrible the entire time. She was being that baby that makes you think that people shouldn't be allowed to bring babies to restaurants. Or any public areas. Or maybe have babies at all, ever. At least breakfast was good.

What? I prefer my pancakes to be made of eggs and cheese.

Afterward, she did a little cat-stalking to unwind.

Exhausted from tormenting an entire eating establishment full of people for an hour, Anna longs for a more specific target.

Anyway, despite the wearying events of the day, I actually legitimately cooked dinner last night for the first time in almost a week. Chicken sate with peanut sauce, rice noodles, and steamed broccoli.

Definitely good flavor for not too much work, and I even managed to use the grill pan without making the house cartoonishly smoky. Success.

Anna has so fully embraced American car culture that this morning she watched Sesame Street while sitting in one, drive-in style. Seriously, she may as well have a little pack of cigarettes rolled up in her sleeve.

She's also been practicing her youthful disaffection.

At any rate, Hopper is wondering when this stopped being an extremely informative yard and garden blog.

He's quite disappointed in the turn it has taken.
